Old Fuel Meets New Fuel 12/12/11
Recently I had the opportunity to ride and Drive the HydroJen Chevy Equinox fuel cell car. It is amazing how quite the car is, even at startup. The navigation showing how fuel cells work is very cool. We drove from Trexlertown campus from Cetronia Road coming onto Route 222 Bypass, merging into thru traffic. The pickup was excellent.
It was very nice experience and interesting learning about fuel cell technology!

I recently had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with the Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell Electric vehicle. It was a great experience!
It was fascinating learning more about fuel cell technology—especially how hydrogen is safely and efficiently converted into a form that can power an automobile.
I’m pleasantly surprised at how much power this vehicle has and how easy it is to drive.
This technology has great potential; I can’t wait to see what it leads to!

Who would have thought that on Halloween weekend I would been driving the hydrogen car around in 10 inches of snow? Here are a few places I visited (pictured below):
Overall, a great weekend experience.

George may have the distinction of being the eldest individual to drive the Hydrogen Car. George is 81 years old and still going strong. Each summer, George drives himself 12 hours straight to his cabin in Maine where he spends the summer enjoying the great outdoors. George really enjoyed driving the Hydrogen car and is looking forward to the day that he can make that long drive to Maine in a hydrogen-powered vehicle.
Overall, George was very impressed with the speed and handling of the vehicle and was very grateful to be given the opportunity to experience the future. When I started to explain the details of the vehicle to George, George quickly interrupted and began to explain it to me. Apparently, George has been reading about the technology for some time now. Way to go George!

A colleague and I were treated to a ride in the Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle.
Naturally I had a million questions and our host kindly answered every one.
The first thing that stands out is how quiet the car sounds from inside. Particularly impressive is the power/fuel display on the Sat Nav/radio screen which shows everything working.
I was offered a chance to drive but as a UK citizen having not driven in the US yet I decided not take the offer up this time (hopefully next time if the chance arises again).
This is without a doubt the car of the future and it makes it even sweeter to be working for a company who is pushing the technology.
My only request is to have one of these cars sent to Hersham where I would be delighted to be an ambassador for it!
Thank you for the ride!

The North American CDP’s held a day of caring on September 13, 2011. The group was honored to be able to utilize the HydroJen vehicle throughout the day. HydroJen got to catch some rays outside the Lehigh Valley Zoo while the CDP’s prepared for an event, improved the cleanliness of the park, and counted tickets from a fundraising event. The hydrogen car drew attention from the group members, people in the parking lot, and the zoo staff. Everyone was happy to see innovation hitting the streets and many expressed their excitement to see the vehicle.

Had the car for a couple of days. Car is spritzy in picking up speed – blends smoothly into heavy highway traffic. Noise is quite pronounced outside the vehicle, especially in a garage (air blower ?); but you don’t notice it inside the vehicle itself. A neighbor who I have not had a conversation with for years came over to my driveway to look it up – wanted to know when it would be available commercially so he can take it for his daily commute to Lansdale!
